As Corporate Counsel at Personal Capital, you will support the legal and compliance to assist Personal Capital with its exponential growth. We are looking for a passionate and professional team player who is detail-oriented, enthusiastic, diligent, resourceful, and wants to be part of a close and collaborative legal and compliance team in a fast-paced financial services company.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate, write, and execute contracts on behalf of the company.
  • Offer counsel on a variety of legal issues.
  • Advise executives within the company.
  • Work alongside other departments within the company.
  • Advise on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with different deals.
  • Research and anticipating unique legal issues that could impact the company.
  • Develop policies and procedures for the legal and compliance department.
  • Review advertising and marketing materials to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Provide training to the company on legal topics.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Must have 5-10 years of experience gained in large law firm and/or in-house.
  • Must have a law degree from a recognized university.
  • Must be admitted to a recognized bar.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong negotiating skills with both legal and financial/commercial issues.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization’s legal department and across all businesses.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Team player willing to pitch in where needed.
  • Experience in regulatory environment or fintech preferred.
